Our generators supply us with clean, renewable electricity. We buy renewable power that is owned by communities, co-operatives or citizens, and sell it to our customers.
We are relatively unique in Ireland because we offer small to medium sized generators the opportunity to trade on the Integrated Single Electricity Market (I-SEM). All surplus electricity which they do not use can be sold into the electricity market through Community Power by entering into a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA).
If you or your organisation is exploring ‘on site’ generation through wind, solar, CHP or hydro and has a requirement for a licenced supply company to purchase surplus electricity generation then we can help. We are looking to buy excess electricity from citizen and communities. Give us a call or send an email.
In 2020 we are planning to grow our renewable generation by building up to three solar farms in Galway, Mayo and Tipperary. Our intention is to take part in the first auction of the Renewable Electricity Support Scheme (RESS) which is due to be held in June 2020. This scheme will provide support for the sale of solar electricity to the Irish market for the first time.
We will be offering shares of all three solar projects to the communities and people of Ireland for all to share in the returns and benefits. Since our company is built on democratic, co-operative principles we know our offering will be fair and safe. Our current generators are wind and hydro powered. Watch some of their stories below.
We’ll be adding schools over the coming weeks!!
